ARK OF THE COVENANT

The Ark of the Covenant is a biblical artifact that is believed to have held the stone tablets inscribed with the Ten Commandments. It is described in the Book of Exodus and is considered a sacred and important symbol in Judaism and Christianity. According to the Bible, the Ark was constructed at the command of God and accompanied the Israelites during their wanderings in the desert. It was later placed in the Holy of Holies in the Temple of Jerusalem. The fate and location of the Ark of the Covenant are unknown, and it continues to be the subject of speculation and curiosity.

Temple of Jerusalem

The Temple of Jerusalem, also known as the Holy Temple, was a series of structures located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem. The First Temple, built by King Solomon, was destroyed by the Babylonians, and the Second Temple was subsequently constructed on the same site. Herod the Great extensively renovated the Second Temple, expanding and beautifying it. This grand structure was a central place of worship and sacrifice in ancient Judaism. However, the Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE, and today, the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, is the most significant remnant of this historic site.

1Chr.15

  1. 25] So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.
  2. [26] And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
  3. [28] Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
  4. [29] And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
