The woman didn’t know where to look; probably the safest place was the ground. She had been caught in the act of adultery and now she was in front of Jesus, dragged there by her accusers for a harsh word of judgement. Then the inevitable stoning would follow. As the woman stood there awaiting her fate, she heard the words, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” Turning to the Pharisees, Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life,” (John 8:1-12). Without a doubt, these are gloomy times and people find themselves living in the darkness and accepting it as their only reality. After all, what are the alternatives?
