The Hashmallim חַשְׁמַלִּים

The term “Hashmallim” (חַשְׁמַלִּים) refers to a group of celestial beings mentioned in Jewish mysticism and Kabbalistic literature. They are considered one of the orders of angels and are often associated with divine light and conductivity, much like the idea of electricity.

In Kabbalah, the Hashmallim are thought to serve as messengers of God, facilitating the connection between the earthly realm and the divine. Their name is derived from the Hebrew word for “electricity” (חַשְׁמַל), reflecting their role in transmitting spiritual energy and enlightenment.

These beings are sometimes linked with the Merkavah (the chariot) mysticism, a form of spiritual ascension and divine encounter found in early Jewish texts. Through meditation and contemplation on the attributes of the Hashmallim, practitioners seek to deepen their understanding of the divine order and their place within it.

The study of Hashmallim can lead to profound insights regarding the nature of God, creation, and the interconnectedness of all existence.
