Barton Moss in Salford where energy company iGas has built a vertical test well to assess the suitability for shale gas tracking at the site between Barton Aerodrome and the M62 motorway, on 14 January 2014. The company is carrying out exploratory drilling to take samples of rock for analysis to explore potential energy reserves beneath the area.
